To be or not to be

To be or not to be is an extremely famous quote from Hamlet's soliloquy, it's also a very controversial quote because it can mean numerous different things. An interesting factor to consider during his soliloquy is whether he is aware of the fact that his uncle and Ophelia's father are listening to him, personally I think he knows there listening. The main point of his soliloquy in my opinion is to live or not to live, but there is also the underlying meaning of revenge. He is still alive because his life serves a purpose and that purpose is to get revenge on his uncle for killing his father and then marrying his wife. I believe Hamlet says this to his uncle so that his uncle gets nervous because he becomes aware of the fact that Hamlet is on to him. I think this is part of Hamlets plan to make sure that his father was the apparition and that it was not the devil making false accusations of his uncle.

Reactions to Hamlet

Our class is not very far into Hamlet, but I already enjoy it! After reading the first two scenes I could understand the general idea of an apparition that was a king, also that the kings son was unhappy due to his fathers deaths and a marriage. It wasn't until our class watched the play that I began to understand almost completely what was going on, and I'm happy that I read before because I think that helped me to better understand the play. I'm very excited to see what happens and I think the king will begin to speak soon or at least find some way to get his message across.

Grades

For your first post, write me a letter.  In this letter,
propose your grade for the term. Then, explain who you will be and what
you will have learned and accomplished by the end of the term to justify your grade.

In honors lit I earned a B last term, I was satisfied with a B, and my dad said it was satisfactory, but neither him nor me we impressed by my B. This term I want a grade that both me and my dad will be proud of. My father and I  both understand that lit isn't my strongest subject because I'm more of an objective learner, but I will do the best I can to get a good grade. My goal is to earn an A-, and I plan on doing that by completing assignments to the best of my ability and to revise any work that is available to be revised.
